Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America welcomes people who believe in the mission and those who want to honor or remain connected to a Vietnam veteran—a spouse, parent, grandparent, brother, sister, other relative or friend.

VVA Membership — How to Join
Who Can Join
Membership is open to any service member who served during the Vietnam era. It does not matter whether you served in-country or elsewhere — every branch, every duty station and every rank has a place in Chapter 227.
The chapter itself serves more broadly than it recruits: it helps homeless and needy veterans across Northern Virginia, not only Vietnam veterans.

AVVA — Another Way to Belong
Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America (AVVA) is open to people who support the mission or want to maintain a connection to a Vietnam veteran, whether or not they served themselves.

Third Thursday of the month
Nine meetings a year — none in July or August
Running order
- 5:30 pm Cash bar opens
- 6:15 pm Dinner served
- 7:00 pm Meeting and guest speaker
Anyone is welcome, including spouses and guests. You do not have to be a member to come to a meeting.

Chapter 227 members participate throughout the year in veteran gatherings, commemorations, community activities and events across Northern Virginia.
